| Hi Everyone, I wanted to know if any of you belong to a clearing house for electronic billing? How does a person research to find a clearing house and the costs? Can someone also explain whats the purpose of having a clearinghouse and what are their functions? Donna |

[medical_billing] Re: Need help with coding scenario
Hi Brenda!
I'm a student as well....I may be of some help....
In this case, the physician is describing his conclusion to a cardiac
procedure: angioplasty
What is happening in this scenario is that the patient had an
angiography on the left internal illiac artery. We do not know how long
this was done but it was obvious that there were problems with her
circulation; therefore a new angiography was replaced through an
angioplasty procedure
In this case, it is a procedure, therefore, you have to check first on
ICD - 9 under Cardiology....find first angioplasty and then left femoral
artery.
You should do the same with CPT. A lot of times I look on the back
pages....they do help quite a bit.
Good luck on your exam....and keep us posted.
Also, if you could offer information about the certificate, let me know.
Thanks!
La Yuya
